Single and tandem kayaks and stand up paddle boards (SUPs) may be rented for 2 to 6 hours, for 24 hours, or for multiple days. On-line bookings take priority and walk-ins are accepted by availability. You may book your first 2 hours online and pay for any additional time when you return. If you choose to paddle for less than 2 hours you will be still be charged for the hour minimum.
For 6 hour rentals or longer you can also have your kayaks delivered to you for an additional fee, or pick them up from our rental beach yourself. We offer complimentary straps and cushioning for your vehicle.
Whether you launch from our beach or have them delivered, we will help you choose a route, provide you with a map, life vest, paddle, and an emergency water pump for your safety. Before you begin we will discuss safety concerns, emergency plans, and go over any environmental or route hazards. On most days you may keep your return time open-ended. Dogs, beginners and small children are welcome. Summer waters are usually calm and water temperatures on the top layer can reach 73 degrees F.
Our kayak rental location is at Yelvik’s Beach , 3 miles north of our store and office. If the driveway to the beach is roped off, just let yourself through and latch it behind you. Yelvik’s Beach & Campground charges a $5 per vehicle facility use pass that is covered and included with your rental when you book online. Walk-ins will pay the day use fee at check out with our beach attendant.
On days and hours that the beach is not manned with an attendant, walk-ins will need to stop by our office/store to get a staff member to accompany you to the beach or you may call us from Yelvik’s Beach. During crabbing season you can rent a crab pot and and crab cooker! Let it soak while your enjoying your paddle then cook them right on the beach or take them home for dinner!
