Kayak Crabbing

Kayak crabbing is wildly popular, fun and easy to do! Hood Canal Adventures rents crab pots specifically designed for kayaks to catch your own Dungeness and Red Rock crab. Let us teach you how! All you need is a Department of Fish & Wildlife shellfish license and we’ll provide a pot, line, buoy, crab measurer, bait and some pointers. You may rent equipment a la carte or purchase our Kayak Crabbing Package Deal (below). Check out the videos below to see how easy kayak crabbing is!

Crabbing in the Hood Canal can only be done during crabbing season which usually starts in early July  and runs through Labor Day (early Sept), Thursday through Monday. Winter crabbing varies, and  usually opens sometime between October and December. Please call or check the WDFW website for season openings.
