Tide Pool Exploration Kayak Tour

May 21 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Event Series (See All)
$115

Tide pooling by kayak! Join us for our 2.5 hour Biologist guided, Tide Pool Exploring Kayaking Tour! $115 per person. This is one of our most popular tour with kids and with people of any age interested in intertidal marine wildlife. We will paddle out at low tide to view a variety of marine invertebrates such as sea stars, sea cucumbers, sea anemone, nudibranch, chitons, and crab. We usually also see bald eagles, small fish, jellyfish, heron and sometimes a seal or two! We have on occasion, seen humpback whales, harbor porpoise, California Sea Lions and Orcas in this area. If joining this tour in mid-April through June you will also see up to 100 bald eagles so you get two tours in one! See our Bald Eagle Viewing Kayaking Tour for details.  Your Guide and Naturalist will teach you about the animals we encounter as we paddle to a rocky point near a bald eagle’s nest and then slowly meander the shoreline in search of intertidal wildlife.

Spring brings us some windy days, so if you are visiting for a short time we recommend booking this tour in the beginning of your stay if possible. This may provide a window to reschedule around forecasted winds. After booking, please check for your confirmation e-mail with important information including directions to our launch location. For tips on what to wear, kayaking with kids and other subjects see our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Tour group size will be between 2 and 8 people.  If you are a group larger than 8, please call us to book 360-301-6310.
