SUMMARY:Dosewallips Estuary Kayak Tour
DESCRIPTION:Estuaries (where fresh water meets salt) are important areas for wildlife\, rich in food and serve as nurseries and spawning grounds for a variety of species.  The Dosewallips Estuary is one of Washington’s largest intact estuaries and is home to up to 100 harbor seals\, bald eagles\, blue herons\, salmon\, river otters and much more. If your lucky we’ll spot Brinnon’s herd of Roosevelt Elk grazing on the banks! \nOn this 3 hour round-trip paddle we experience three distinct environments.  We start in the marine waters of the Hood Canal then travel into the Dosewallips Estuary and upriver into slow moving sloughs. Once we reach the estuary\, we’ll watch the amazing array of year round and seasonal wildlife and explore the lower river channels. Your Naturalist / Guide will teach you about the wildlife we see and talk about the natural history of the Hood Canal.  $125 per person. \nPlease contact us if your booking for a child so that we may bring the appropriate sized life vests.  We may use tandem and/or single kayaks for this tour.  If you have a preference\, please let us know 3 days prior to your tour date. \nTour group size will be between 2 and 8 people.  If you are a group larger than 8\, please call us to book 360-301-6310. \nWeather cancellations are always a possibility.  We strive to give folks 48 hours notice\, however weather forecasts are not always accurate and tours can be cancelled at any time.  After booking\, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with important details including where we meet for this tour. Also\, see our Frequently Asked Questions page for our Cancellation & Refund Policy. \n \n  \n \nRoosevelt Elk at Dosewallips Estuary \n  \n  \n\n\nBook Now

SUMMARY:Kayak Crabbing & Lunch Guided Tour
DESCRIPTION:Photo credit: Kelly Knierim. Catch crab from your kayak on our guided Kayak Crabbing and Lunch Tour!\n  \nJoin us for a guided half day kayaking adventure of kayak crabbing\, wildlife viewing\, swimming and a beach picnic! We will paddle a short way to drop crab pots then continue on our journey to view beautiful scenery and amazing wildlife before reaching a secluded beach to relax\, eat a picnic lunch and swim. Your guide will be with you every step of the way to teach you how to safely and effectively catch crab off your kayak and point out the local wildlife we see along the way. On the paddle back\, we will pull up the crab pots and hopefully score a bounty of Dungeness and Red Rock crabs for you to take home for dinner! This tour occurs in one of the best spots to see transient orcas travel through on their hunt for seals and other mammals\, so bring a camera! $145 per person \nTour group size will be between 2 and 8 people.  If you are a group larger than 8\, please call us to book 360-301-6310. \nWear shoes that can get wet. Flip-flops and slip-on sandals are not advisable as there are many sharp oysters on the beach. Water shoes\, boots\, or old tennis shoes work great. A hat\, sunglasses\, sunscreen\, and a swimsuit are recommended. \nYou are also welcome to join this tour without the crabbing activity\, however there is no discount offered if you choose not to drop a crab pot.  You may bring your own lunch or purchase a picnic lunch from us as an add on when you book. \nIf you are participating in crab harvesting\, a WDFW shell fishing license with a Dungeness Crab Catch Card is REQUIRED. PLEASE PURCHASE BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL with the MYWDFW App or on the WDFW website (you’ll need to print your license and bring it with you) \nOne licensed person can drop up to 2 crab pots\, so you don’t necessarily need a license for each person.
