SUMMARY:Oyster Shucking & Kayaking Tour
DESCRIPTION:  \nOur Kayaking & Oyster Shucking Tour is a 4 hour adventure leaving from our location at Yelvik’s Beach. $125 per person. We will paddle around breathtaking Pulali Point and into Dabob Bay viewing seals\, eagles and other wildlife before arriving at a small secluded beach jam packed with oysters. We will eat lunch\, conduct an oyster shucking tutorial\, and then get busy harvesting your limit of fresh Hood Canal oysters right off the beach! Along the way your guide\, will teach you about the Hood Canal and the wildlife we encounter.  Bring your camera as we usually see lots of eagles and a diverse array of other marine life! Marine mammals are a common sight on this tour including harbor seals and porpoises\, and occasionally we see humpback whales; orca; California Sea Lions and Steller Sea Lions. \nTour group size will be between 2 and 8 people.  If you are a group larger than 8\, please call us to book 360-301-6310. \nBring your own lunch or order a picnic lunch when you book.  Picnic lunches come with a hearty meat or veggie wrap or sandwich\, fresh fruit\, trail mix\, and water with hydration packet. Lunches are prepared by The Halfway Restaurant and your guide will pick them up the morning of your tour.  If you have dietary restrictions or meat preferences let us know so we can forward your choices to the restaurant. \nOyster shucking knives and gloves are provided for loan. Wear shoes that can get wet. Flip-flops and slip-on sandals are not advisable as there are many sharp oysters on the beach. Water shoes\, boots\, or old tennis shoes work great. This tour is not advisable for children under 7. \nIf you plan to bring harvested oysters home with you\, a WDFW shellfish license is REQUIRED. \nPLEASE PURCHASE BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL with the MYWDFW APP – your license will be viewable in the app. Or purchase on the WDFW website – you will need to print out your license and have it with you when you arrive. **Also\, bring a sealable gallon-sized bag or similar sized sealable container to carry your shucked oysters from the beach.** \nAfter booking\, please look for your confirmation e-mail with important information including directions to our launch location. Spring brings us some windy days so we recommend booking this tour in the beginning of your visit to the area to leave a window to reschedule around winds. For information on what to wear\, our refund and cancellation policies\, and more\, please see our Frequently Asked Questions page. \n\n**Our guides are area experts and work hard to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable adventure. They also greatly appreciate cash tips.** \n\n \n  \n  \nBook Now

SUMMARY:Dosewallips Estuary Kayak Tour
DESCRIPTION:Estuaries (where fresh water meets salt) are important areas for wildlife\, rich in food and serve as nurseries and spawning grounds for a variety of species.  The Dosewallips Estuary is one of Washington’s largest intact estuaries and is home to up to 100 harbor seals\, bald eagles\, blue herons\, salmon\, river otters and much more. If your lucky we’ll spot Brinnon’s herd of Roosevelt Elk grazing on the banks! \nOn this 3 hour round-trip paddle we experience three distinct environments.  We start in the marine waters of the Hood Canal then travel into the Dosewallips Estuary and upriver into slow moving sloughs. Once we reach the estuary\, we’ll watch the amazing array of year round and seasonal wildlife and explore the lower river channels. Your Naturalist / Guide will teach you about the wildlife we see and talk about the natural history of the Hood Canal.  $125 per person. \nPlease contact us if your booking for a child so that we may bring the appropriate sized life vests.  We may use tandem and/or single kayaks for this tour.  If you have a preference\, please let us know 3 days prior to your tour date. \nTour group size will be between 2 and 8 people.  If you are a group larger than 8\, please call us to book 360-301-6310. \nWeather cancellations are always a possibility.  We strive to give folks 48 hours notice\, however weather forecasts are not always accurate and tours can be cancelled at any time.  After booking\, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with important details including where we meet for this tour. Also\, see our Frequently Asked Questions page for our Cancellation & Refund Policy. \n \n  \n \nRoosevelt Elk at Dosewallips Estuary \n  \n  \n\n\nBook Now

SUMMARY:Bioluminescence / Night Kayak Tour
DESCRIPTION:Photo: Mathew Nichols Photography\n  \nView bioluminescence from your kayak on this magical 2 hour guided night tour! As you paddle through the waters\, bioluminescent plankton will light up like fireflies. The more you splash and agitate the water with your hands and paddles the more you will make the water sparkle! And don’t forget to look up to stars! We may also see the beautiful moon\, meteors\, bats and maybe hear a squawking heron or a startled harbor seal. \nWe have a 100% success rate for seeing bioluminescence on our tours in the last 6 years\, however the amount and brilliance varies.  We do not have control over natural conditions.  We place you in the right place at the right time while giving you the tools and guidance on how best to “activate” it. We hope you appreciate the entire experience of being on the water at night\, whether it be paddling with a full moon\, meteor showers\, Aurora Borealis\, nocturnal wildlife and simple peacefulness of this eerie and wonderful evening. \nKayaks and all safety equipment included.  Appropriate for kids 7 and over. \nNo drugs or alcohol allowed. If we suspect your are intoxicated or smell alcohol on you\, you will not be allowed to join us on the tour and you will not receive a refund. \nWear shoes that can get wet\, synthetic clothing is best and bring a sweatshirt or light sweater for afterwards. \nIf we must cancel the tour due to weather\, the full amount will be refunded to you. See our Frequently Asked Questions page for our other refund and cancellation policies. $125 per person. \n**Our guides are area experts and work hard to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable adventure.
